General Information

In the Fall of 1985, Dallas Montessori Academy was opened with a handful of pre-primary students. The school was well received and an additional pre-primary class and elementary class were added in the Fall of 1986. Middle school education was added in 1989. The school presently has an enrollment of approximately 140 students between the ages of 3 and 14.

Dallas Montessori Academy is accredited by the American Montessori Society (AMS) and its teachers are certified by the American Montessori Society.

Dallas Montessori Academy is dedicated to excellence in advancing the development and education of children from age three years through eighth grade. It offers a low pupil/teacher ratio, a highly qualified, professional faculty and a balanced curriculum that emphasizes academic preparation in basic skills, art, music, foreign languages, physical education, motor development and computer literacy.

Dallas Montessori Academy provides a nurturing environment for the personal, intellectual, and aesthetic development of each child.

Each student is placed with a group of students of various age levels so that he/she may experience success, but also meet with challenge.

School Hours

Half Day Preschool 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Full Day Preschool 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Elementary Class 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Middle School Class 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM

Extended Morning 7:00 AM – 8:30 AM
Extended Evening 3:15 PM - 6:00 PM

Progress Reports

Pupil progress is reported to parents via two scheduled parent/teacher conferences. Additional conferences may be initiated at any time by parents or teachers. Standardized achievement and school ability index tests are utilized along with other diagnostic screening instruments to prescribe the best program for each child’s needs.

Dress Code

To minimize concern with dress, students in grades 1 through 8 wear Dallas Montessori Academy’s uniforms and follow a prescribed dress code. Preschool and kindergarten students wear comfortable play clothes.

Enrollment Process

  1. Call for an appointment to tour the school and meet with the director.
  2. Fill out enrollment packet.
  3. Return completed forms along with registration fee of $75.00.
  4. Upon registration you will receive a student handbook and your student’s name will be placed on the class list.

Parent Involvement

Dallas Montessori Academy encourages parents to be involved in their children’s education. They volunteer in various ways and have also formed their own Parent Spirit Group.

The Parent Spirit Group organizes the Fall Festival, Spring Festival, Teacher’s Appreciation Luncheon, Grandparent’s Day, Dad’s Breakfast, among other activities.
